User guide Proteg Enterprise 2005


System Requirements

In order to use Proteg software, your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements.

Minimum System Requirements:

* PC running Windows XP or Windows 2000 or higher
* Minimum 10MB hard disk space
* 128 MB RAM
* USB storage device (any brand)

Downloading Proteg Enterprise 2005

Proteg Enterprise 2005 software can be downloaded from Inflexpoint Technology website or other shareware site which available. If you have any problems using Proteg, please first make sure that you are using the most recent version (Enterprise 2005) of the software.

To download Proteg Enterprise 2005 to your computer, simply click the download link. Save the installation file to your computer (Figure 1). Be sure to remember where you saved the file (the desktop might be a good place).

Installation

Use the following instructions to install Proteg Enterprise 2005 software on your computer. Please make sure you are log on to your computer either using administrator account or your account has administrator right to install software.

Step 1 :
Once the file has downloaded completely, please open the folder containing the file you downloaded.

Step 2 :
Double-click the installation file (Figure 2) you just downloaded to start installing Proteg on your computer.

Step 3 :
Once the installation begins, you will be asked to read and accept our End User License Agreement prior to installing Proteg(Fugure 3). Click “Yes” only after you have read and understood these terms and then follow the installation instructions on screen in order to choose a suitable location and other available options to install Proteg. Most users will probably want to accept the default location and options.

Note : The setup program will create an emergency account (optional) in your computer. You may use this account in case you are unable to log on to your proteg enabled user account due to failure of USB storage device.

Step 4 : (if you choose create emergency account)
You will be asked four questions and you are expected to answer all of them. Your answers will be used to generate the password for the emergency account. You are strongly advised to remember the answer as you will be asked the same questions to retrieve the password of the emergency account.

Please make sure you provide a valid email address as one of the answers because your emergency password will be sent to that email account.

Step 5 :
You have a choice to immediately setup a Proteg enabled account immediately after the installation. Follow instructions at Enable Proteg On current User Account.

Step 6 :
Your computer must be reboot to initiate Proteg log on sequence on your computer.

Microsoft Active Directory®

What is Microsoft Active Direcroty?

The Microdirectory service that stores information about all objects on the computer network and makes this information easy for administrators and users to find and apply. With the Active Directory, users can access resources anywhere on the network with a single logon. Similarly, administrators have a single point of administration for all objects on the network, which can be viewed in a hierarchical structure.

Note: Before using Proteg 2005 Enterprise edition and enable user domain function, the specify user must create as domain user in the domain controller server before user can login to the domain.

Below steps is a simple guideline how to create a domain user under Microsoft Active Directory.


Step 1: Create new Object – user account.

Fill in the user first name, Last name and Full name. Please define also user login name, for example Proteg (Figure 6 ) and then click “Next” button.

Step 2: Set the initial password.

Fill in the initial password for the user and please DO NOT check the first 2 box. Only check Password never expires box if you want user password never expired, then click “Next” button to continue.

Step 3: Last Page.
Please check and confirm the detail in the last wizard page, then click “Finish” button to end the process.

Enable Proteg On Current User Account

Use the following instructions to convert a current login user account log on from using username and password to using USB storage device and password. You only has privilege to perform the following instructions for your own user account.

Make sure a USB storage device is connected to your computer.

Step 1 :
Select 'Enable Proteg on Current User Account' at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.(Figure 9)

Step 2 :
Verify your current user name and domain information (Figure 10) and click “Next” button to continue. If not USB storage device detected, the error message will pop –up to alert user to insert USB storage device. (Figure11)

Step 3 :
Type in your current password, new password and confirm new password (Figure 12) to be used for log on to the computer in conjunction with the USB storage device. Click “Next” button to continue.

Step 4 :
Message display indicate your password successfully failure with reason updated into your windows system (Figure 13). Click “Finish” button to complete the process. You may reboot your computer for the new setting to take effect.

Disable Proteg From Current User Account

Use the following instructions to revert current user account log on from using USB storage device and password to username and password. You must log on to the computer using current user account to perform the following instructions.

Step 1 :
Select 'Enable Proteg on Current User Account' at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.(Figure 14)

Step 2 :
Verify your current user name and domain information (Figure 15) and click “Next” button to continue.

Step 3 :
Type in your current password, new password and confirm new password (Figure 12) to be used for log on to the computer without using USB storage device. Click “Next” button to continue.

Step 4 :
Message display indicate your password successfully or failure with reason updated into your windows system (Figure 13). Click “Finish” button to complete the process. You may reboot your computer for the new setting to take effect.

Change Proteg Password

Use the following instructions to change the password of a user account. You must log on to the computer using your own user account to perform the following instructions.

Step 1 :
Select 'Change Proteg password' at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.(Figure 16)

Step 2 :
Verify your current user name and domain information (Figure 17) and click “Next” button to continue.

Step 3 :
Type in your current password, new password and confirm new password (Figure 12) to be used for log on to the computer in conjunction with the USB storage device. Click “Next” button to continue.

Step 4 :
Message display indicate your password successfully or failure with reason updated into your windows system (Figure 13). Click “Finish” button to complete the process. You may reboot your computer for the new setting to take effect.

Purchase Proteg Enterprise 2005

Use the following instructions to purchase a valid license for using Proteg software. You must log on to the computer using a user account with administrator privilege to perform the following instructions.

Step 1 :
Select 'Purchase Proteg' at at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.(Figure 18)

Step 2 :
Take note of the License Requisition Code. Make sure you are connected to internet. Click 'I wish to purchase proteg now' button. (Figure 19) Your default browser will be launched to access the purchase site.

Step 3 :
Confirm that the License Requisition Code submitted to the web site is correct. Click on 'Buy Now'.

Step 4 :
Fill in your credit card number, email address and other relevant information. License Key will be sent to your email account provided to us upon confirmation of your credit card payment.

Step 5 :
Follow the step to enter the License Key at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.

Enter License Key

Use the following instructions to enter the license key to Proteg Enterprise 2005 software. You must log on to the computer using a user account with administrator privilege to perform the following instructions.

Step 1 :
Select 'Enter License Key' at at Proteg Manager Enterprise 2005 main screen.(Figure 20)

Step 2 :
Enter the license key received at your email account. (Figure 21)

Step 3:

Message Box display indicate your have successfully or failure register your License Key to the system (Figure 22). Click “Finish” button to complete the process.

Uninstall Proteg Enterprise 2005

Use the following instructions to uninstall Proteg Enterprise 2005 software. You must log on to the computer using a user account with administrator privilege to perform the following instructions.


Note: Please disable all local user account which using USB storage device login to the system to normal username and password login before uninstall this software. Optional for domain user account but recommend disabling if you not longer need USB storage device login to the system

Step 1:

From the Proteg shortcut folder, choose Uninstall Proteg and start the uninstallation process. (Figure 23)

Step 2:

Messagebox (Figure 24) pop-up to confirm uninstallation process. Click “OK” button to continue uninstallatio Proteg software, click “Cancel” button to terminal the uninstallatio process.

Step 3:

InstallShield start uninstallation Proteg software, click “Cancel” button if you would like to cancel or terminal uninstallation this proteg software. (Figure 25)

Step 4:

Uninstallation proteg software completed, Click “Finish” button to complete the process. You may reboot your computer for the new setting to take effect.
